The Moment that Changed My Life

I’ve spent 30 years of my life travelling the world living a life extra ordinary. Without knowing, I was actually running away from my problems.

Ever since I was a child I had struggled with the understanding of my mind and it’s emotions. I felt like this was only happening to me and as a consequence I always felt left out. I now know this was an illusion of my own making but I wasn’t the only one that experienced this feeling. I felt confused and wondering where my place in life actually lay.

Until I discovered Mindfulness & 3 Simple Life Principles

A chance meeting with the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh changed my entire life.

It all began after walking the Camino de Santiago, a 1000 year old pilgrim route across the entire north of Spain. It was after spending 40 days and 40 nights walking 1027km from sun up to sun down that I really discovered my own mind. On my way home I decided to go to Plum Village Monastery, the home of Thich Nhat Hanh. I spent 3 months learning the beginnings of meditation and mindfulness from the brothers and sisters of this wonderfully spiritual place.

It was a cold period during my stay and snow had fallen all around. Thay, as he was affectionately known, had taught us bare foot walking meditation in the snow. And as each practiced on their own I found myself walking through a small part of the forest near where Thay’s small hermitage was, without warning and rather suddenly, as I rounded a corner there the great man strode gracefully bare foot in the snow towards me.

I instantly bowed with great respect to this master, and he gestured me to sit next to him on a fallen tree. I would like to say I stay calm an present in the moment, but instantly I was so nervous and extremely excited an emotional mix filled my mind.

However…….

As I sat next to this great man my worries and excitement ceased to be and a great calm and love filled my heart as if I had returned to the warm embrace of my mum as a child. Thay spoke to me in a slow and soft voice but spoke volumes as loud as any crashing ocean. He gave me three simple lessons that have stayed with me my entire life, he also gave me a mission to go out and experience what he had just said for my own truth.

These three lessons were so powerful that I knew instantly what and where my entire life needed to go. Thich Nhat Hanh gave me purpose and hope and a new awakening I’d never felt or experienced before. It was as if a seed was planted in my mind, watered, grew and flowered all in one instant.

For the next 8 years I traveled Europe and Asia practicing what I’d been taught. From meditation centres in Sri Lanka, Ashrams in India and Monasteries in Malaysia I diligently learnt to master the ancient art of meditation and mindfulness. Finally I myself became an ordained monk in the jungles of North Thailand in the district of Chang Ria close the the Myanmar and Laos boarder.

I become known as Dhamma Tāpasā and have kept this name ever since.

After leaving the monastic setting to return home I began exploring the 21st century’s equivalent of mindfulness and immersed myself into NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and consequently became a certified coach. I then spent a few 4 years travelling Europe seeking out secluded places to practice meditation and deeper my understanding of our human consciousness and finally settling in beautiful Portugal.

Everywhere I went and everyone I met wanted to learn what I had to offer. I started creating stories to help illustrate the points I was trying to make and ‘The Four Trees’ and 4enlightenment.com were born.

I have helped hundreds of people during my last 10 years based on what Thich Nhat Hanh told me. It has become my calling to help others from their suffering i once shared. I now coach with a simple approach using both Buddhist mindfulness and NLP techniques, through my original stories and analogies of our mind. There is nothing painful to my process and I’ve been told it feels like chatting to an old friend over a cup of coffee.

If you would like to know more and how I can help you Find Your Real Purpose then I’d love to hear from you.

3 Principles to Achieve Success

How to use these 3 Priniples to Achieve Success in Your Life

We tend to make living a successful life more complicated than it needs to be. With these 3 Principles to achieve success we will have you on the right track in no time.

It’s human nature to want to overcomplicate even the simplest concepts, because we can’t seem to get HOW something could be that simple. We often maintain this ideal to stop ourselves from being successful. Sure, life is difficult and it can be hard, but that’s how it was designed to be. Achieving success isn’t as difficult as you might think, just use these 3 principles to achieve that success right now.

1: Begin with what you can control.

If you are like most people, you spend too much time worrying about things that are outside of your control. We have an inner dialogue that seems to go around and around fussing and fretting over matters that we can neither do anything about or have any control over. These life problems can cause you untold stress mostly because you spend your entire day focusing and thinking how terrible your situation is rather than how you can change your situation.

3 Principles to achieve success

For example: You can’t control your past events, and there is no value in wasting precious energy focusing on those past moments. Instead try to learn from your mistakes and make changes.

What you can control however is how you react to any given situation and this previous article explains what is out of our control and what we have control over.

Discover what you can and can’t control

2: You View the world using a Personal value-based model.

Everyone of us has created our own value systems of how we experience the world around us. As you are part of the human race you fundamentally work the exact same way as your friends, your colleges and siblings. The difference is what you have placed value on.

You have 5 senses that tell you what is going on around you. The sense of smell, touch, taste, sight and sound. These sense impressions are then processed in your sub conscious, faster than any computer, and all based or filtered from previous experiences and events. From what made you happy, what made you sad, what brings you joy and what makes you suffer.

We have so much information coming in at any given moment. According to Forbes this isnformation is 11million pieces per second. The mind then filters out what is unwanted or of any use to your present situation.

the 3 principles to achieve success

As an example: What is the feeling in your right foot now? I bet you hadn’t even noticed any sensation in your right foot until I asked you! That is one of your filters. You didn’t need to know the feeling until I asked. And this is going on in your sub conscious every millisecond of everyday.

Strolling through life aimlessly is what will cause you to become lost. You can increase how effective you are by changing your set of values that guide you. Everything you do is guided by this value-based model. From your perception of wealth, health or relationships as examples.

How do I change my value system?

There are two amazing scientifically proven techniques that help you to notice your limiting value systems, the systems that aren’t working well for you. They could be causing you unnecessary suffering in your finances, relationships or any aspect of your life.

The first is meditation and mindfulness. We begin to explore our minds and notice without judgment or attachment how our minds function, how this process of mind really works. We slowly begin to see that which causes us to suffer and once clearly seen you naturally drop those values that no long we have benefit to you.

The other method to practice or learn is NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) this is the 21st century’s scientific model of the human minds workings and for all of us taught at school works wonderfully in explaining and uncovering value systems that cause you harm.

Discover How You can Learn ALL THIS in Just One Hour

3 Intentionally develop a process to build momentum.

Your developed mind is a tool to use, to be proactive in attaining your goals and your dreams. Your mind will either MAKE YOU OR BREAK YOU! So use it to develop a process to build momentum to reach your goals. use it top develop these 3 priniples to achieve success

Using simple NLP exercises such as timeline therapy, anchoring, the swish method and visualisation we can speed up the process of learning and build your Momentum to success. It can be tough to build momentum on your own.

principles to achieving success, discover 3 principles to achieve success in your life

Building momentum is rather like trying to pushing a car. The first initial surge requires immense effort but once it actually moves slightly, you feel you can do this which then powers you onto more and more.

No matter where you are in this great journey we call life, remember that every lotus flower first must rise from the deepest darkest water to find the surface and flower. You too can achieve every dream and goal you want in life, but you need to make a commitment to gather your momentum. I promise you there are countless rewards along this road.

The Concept for implimenting these principles to achieve success

The concept is easy, but the execution can sometimes be very difficult on your own. To help speed the process find a qualified coach in either meditation or NLP, within a very short time You will have built the confidence in yourself and dissolve any limiting beliefs that could be holding you back. It’s like having an extra pair of hands helpig you build that first momentum.

A Course in Building Confidence and Self esteem

Optimism

As we have previously discussed in Optimistic v Pessimistic, optimism can be learnt, taught and developed to become a meaningful partly of our lives. This article attempts to further expand on this article.

It all lies in our positive perception of our personality, the events occurring around us and life itself. So long as we believe in the goodness that we may have in life, we are bound to enjoy it the way everyone should.

Unfortunately, many of us cannot grasp optimism from a life that is muddled with miseries, morbidity, and struggles. Of course, life’s pleasure could not be appreciated if it didn’t have an equal opposite and optimism is Pessimism. It is true to say that Pain cannot be felt if all we know is joy. Tears would lose its worth if we always experience happiness. Confidence would not be recognized if we do not fall flat on our face sometimes.

Life is a gratifying privilege and we can make everything we want from it. We have to start early in building our foundations so that we wont have to loose precious moments that shall never pass by us again. A moment that’s gone is gone forever.

With optimism in our life we would be able to recognise the fullness of our potentials, recognise each moment that passes with a joyful experience. Everyone has this equal chance for recognition of Optimism yet many of us fall shy of such joy and generally surrender to pessimism even before the battle begun.

If you want to share the beauty the world can offer, you must be brave, you must make the promise to yourself to take control. It is not enough for our short lives to settle for second best. Nothing should stop you from living your life, not even the miserable demons of low self confidence, low self esteem or even depression.

Those who braved life are those who are confident enough of themselves. Sometimes, we just have to take risks so that we might discover what lies along our road. Taking risks though requires lots of faith in yourself. Without this, you would be like a warrior who has lost his armor.

From birth, we were equipped with all the skills that we will use in the later stages of our lives. One such skill is the ability to face challenges and to face them with faith, both in ourselves and for ourselves.

All of us have, by now, developed our sense of self worth. Through schooling, parents and peers as we have progressed. We are all equal in this journey, even if sometimes it feels like our fellow brothers and sisters are more blessed than us. This is not the case.

We normally have the common notion that life is unfair when in fact, it is not. Life is the most perfect playground where our five senses play out through our thoughts and actions. We all have our shares of blessing and our shares of challenges. Poor people have poor problems and rich people have rich problems. Females have female problems and male have male problems. It just lies in our perception of things and the manner by which we handle things. As the satin gun goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The same thing goes with self confidence and self esteem.

Many of us think that the man or women we look up to shared much of life’s blessings because those rose to the top. We without question except hero’s and heroines as having such an easy life to tech there point in stardom. They can can face the public better and he is much eloquent and more confident than I am. These are just unfounded excuses we repeat in our minds. Remember that before he or she even got there, they had to face challenges, and strife, these have contributed to their self-esteem and self confidence. And all of us can be that hero or heroine if I’m my we learnt how to believe in ourselves.

We just have to find our own enlightenment our own path. We ha r to find what I like to call our TRUE PURPOSE. We have to be able to achieve the building of good foundations for our self esteem and self confidence. Changes must come from within before we can accept the assistance that comes from outside. Realization of how valuable you are and how beautifully you truly are, unique in your own individuality but equally connected to every human on the planet.

Make 2022 the year you build your self esteem, your confidence and find your true purpose. Build the skills necessary to become a success in whatever you choose to do. Become an inspiration for someone else.

This is the most wonderful venture you will take in life. And I salute and noble worrier ready to do just that.
